AM workout

Today was going to be a reat day to give this old body time to heal but I just couldn't resist the call of the trail on a beautiful fall afternoon soooo,. I caved in and went 13 miles of MTB'ing. It doesn't get any better !!!!!!!!

MTB'ing 13 miles of single track. The foot and strains from the bike crash are feeling really good but I'm still taking the next couple of days off pounding the pavement so maybe I'll be back to near 100% come Sunday. I'll ease back into  my marathon training plan next week ramping up the mileage and intensity. I can't hardly wait ,it's amazing how much you miss running when you can't run for a few days.

20 mile road ride cloudy 50's with a little drizzle around a 18mph avg.

Rest day, probably a good thing but it sure was hard !!!! It was such a nice day. The only way I made it was I had to work and that kept me busy and kept my mind off what all I could be doing (i.e. running, MTB'ing, road riding, yard work ect.,).

AM workout.

 I had it in the back of my mind to try and run this morning if everything felt alright but backed off that idea because of the groin being a little tight and sore this morning. The good news is it didn't have that weakness to it so things are getting better and also things felt better after the workout. I'll either try a run this afternoon or hit the bike for a good cardio workout.

20 mile road ride 18 mph avg on hilly course. It felt good to push it!!!! I wish I could "RUN"

I did try it (run) a couple times today but the body just won't let me.

13 miles on the trail. It was kind of slick because of the rain yesterday and all the leaves so I took it nice a easy but still got a good workout.

Afternoon workout. The foot and groin are feeling good today so maybe everything is finally going to get back to normal. I'm still going to try and make it to Sunday before trying to run. I'll try and keep the cardio going the next few days on the bike. One good thing is I've been hitting the gym hard with stretching and the weights so I feel like I've built some muscle and also kept my weight down.

13 mile on the single track on a "Great" morning.

Tomorrow morning before church I'll finally get to try this old body out to see if I can get back to training. Right now I'm very optimistic !!!!

Well S#@^ !!!!!!!

I really thought a week off would put to rest the groin and foot issues but no such luck. I could tell in the first tenth that things weren't good. Now that's the bad news the good news is even though things weren't good they didn't seem to get any worse. The foot felt good but the groin hurt and was weak ( if that makes any sense). After running I went to church, to eat with a group from church then I hit the gym for a good stretching and workout which felt good. ????????

I'm going to change my name from Hillbilly Runner to "Goose Egg" if I can't get back to running and post something besides "Zero's".

PM workout after work and against the good advice of Mr. Slick I ran 4 miles. The good news is it went rather well. I decided that the best approach might be the dreaded tread mill so that's what I did. I really can't expain it but the treadmill doesn't bother my injuries near as bad as pounding the pavement outside does.

Afternoon workout and run after work. The treadmill has become my "Best" friend for now, it's got me back in the running game. I think I"ll stick to the treadmill for the next few runs to ease my body back into the running groove.

20 mile road ride while the turkey was cooking. It started out with what seemed to be slow pace because of a stiff headwind but I got it all back and then some on the way back home.

AM run on the treadmill, I started out going to run steady 8's but got sooooo bored that I had to occupy myself by playing with the speed. I ended up running faster than I probably shoud've but I'll take the day off running tomorrow and hit the bike trail.

AM 13 mile MTB ride, it didn't take long to get woke up with the temps in the 30's with a lite breeze coming off the water. It doesn't get much better this time of year!!!!!

Also went by the gym for a little stretching and a good " hot" shower. The good news is the foot and groin are feeling pretty "Good". Now if I can just be patient and not push it too much I think I'll be OK for the Surf City Marathon in Feb. with Mr. Slick.

WOW!!!! What a difference a week makes. Even though things aren't 100% they are tons better than they were last Sunday. There's still some tenderness in the groin causing me to favor it a little also a few little aches and pains but I think things will work themselves out in the next couple weeks as my body get back in the groove of running. A beautiful morning to run before church 30's and sunny.
